This morning my trainer sent me a video of me doing a back exercise. As I sat in the car reviewing the footage, I got so discouraged. I began thinking that I didn't see any results in my body. I started going back and looking at old videos from last year, comparing the old versus the new. The more I sat, the more I picked myself apart.
Minutes and minutes rolled by, and I was still stuck looking, analyzing, and zooming in on different parts of my body. The longer I sat, the deeper I sunk into the rabbit hole of self-loathing. The more I analyzed and deconstructed my body, the more feelings of mediocrity I picked up and waved like a flag over my life.
After a brief conversation with a friend, I immediately snapped out of it. It's like a light bulb went off in my head. This is the exact reason why people fall off their goals and don't see them through to the end! They get stuck inside their heads, devaluing their efforts, continuously comparing themselves to others progress and walking away before the results can appear.
I lost an hour out of my day because I got stuck. Unfortunately, isn’t that what happens when we start feeding our minds the wrong stuff? We can stay stuck for an hour, a week, months and even years.
The only thing that can manifest from negative thinking is a negative life. Thankfully, the mind changes the moment you decide to go in a different direction, leave what no longer serves you, or begin a new chapter of your winning life. The mind will follow you wherever you lead it.
Your timeline of staying or getting unstuck is up to you. If you keep doing what you have always done, you will continue to get what you have always gotten. Get in the present moment, stop comparing yourself to others and get out of your way. Everyone has moments of self-doubt, insecurities, and failures, the trick to winning the game of life is to get unstuck and keep going.
You have 8400 hours left in the year. Don't waste another one stuck.
